Actually, I Can!

Wandering around Target this past weekend, I discovered a beautiful stoneware mug buried among Joanna Gaines’ exclusive home brand, Hearth and Hand.

The design was pretty, but is was the message imprinted on the mug that really spoke to me.

It simply stated in black bold text, “Actually, I can.”

I was so excited with this mug that I just had to order it as a gift for my clients. But unfortunately, when I checked online, I saw that it’s not available for shipping.

I decided to go ahead with my second best option, and write a blog with that same inspiring message. 

What I like about this message is that it doesn’t pretend that we are all completely sure of ourselves all the time. It doesn’t ignore the fact that we struggle with fear and doubt. 

It does, however, acknowledge that each of us can access a little quiet voice inside that really knows what we are capable of and is even more powerful than our doubts. 

The words on my mug are telling me, “Listen to me, doubt, I hear you loud and clear and I know that you think that I can’t. But actually, I can!”

So together let’s say it out loud right now, “ACTUALLY, I CAN.”

Write this message with a dry erase marker on your mirror. Scribble it on paper and hang it on the wall in front of your desk. Put it any place where you will see it often. 

Or maybe just head to your local target to pick up a mug for yourself.
